CHARLOTTE LORD
Associate Creative Director
Charlotte is Publica’s Associate Creative Director, bringing strategic creative leadership and direction to Publica’s projects. Charlotte has led the visual direction of our work since joining Publica in its founding year in 2010, and works across projects and with multi-disciplinary teams to bring insight and expertise in communication and graphic design. As a designer and collaborator, Charlotte has specialist expertise in visual communications for projects in the built environment, and in creating communication tools to explain complex ideas in accessible, engaging and creative ways that respond to the identity, context and ambition of projects in the public realm.
Charlotte led the graphic design team at Publica from 2010 to 2022 and developed our unique approach to visual communications and our Identity & Communications service area, carrying out bespoke commissions for clients including Westminster City Council, the New West End Company, Store X, Selfridges and the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP).
One of Charlotte’s key projects is Place, Spaces, Work: The Creative Industries in London, a publication co-published with Store X, drawings from which were exhibited at the 2017 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2017 and the Royal Academy Summer Show 2018. Her work also includes signage design for Bond Street and Marylebone Lane.
Charlotte trained as a graphic designer and typographer at the London College of Communication, graduating with first-class honours in 2007. Charlotte is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), and is a visiting lecturer and mentor at the London College of Communication, UAL.
