RIGHT TO THE CITY SELECTED AS A FINALIST IN THE INSPIRE FUTURE GENERATIONS AWARD 2025
November 2025

Right to the City has been selected as a finalist for the Inspire Future Generations Awards 2025 in the Safety and Inclusiveness category. Hosted by Thornton Education Trust, the awards highlight children and young people’s engagement in the built environment.
Right to the City is a live action research programme led by Publica’s Campaign for Inclusive Cities, exploring how women, girls, and non-binary people experience public space in the City of London after dark, and how their voices can shape safer, more inclusive urban environments.
The project responds to a growing recognition that traditional approaches to safety often fail to capture the spectrum of lived experiences of those who feel underrepresented in the City’s public realm.
One of the programmes core strands, the Youth Design Challenge, empowered 239 young people to reimagine public spaces through collage and poster-making, amplifying their visions for a safer, more inclusive, and joyful City.
Winners of the Inspire Future Generations Awards 2025 will be announced in early January.
