LUCY MUSGRAVE DELIVERS KEYNOTE SPEECH AT CAREER MENTORING EVENT HOSTED BY BUILT BY US
The event, which took place on International Women’s Day, provided careers support while facilitating a conversation about gender bias within the construction industry.
Earlier this month, Lucy Musgrave was invited to present the keynote speech at a career mentoring event hosted by Built By Us – a social enterprise on a mission to diversify the construction sector.
As part of the organisation’s Build programme, the event was targeted at people who are looking to develop their careers in the built environment. It offered the opportunity to get careers support and information on gaining work experience, training, an apprenticeship, a new job or making a change career.
Taking place on 8 March, it also coincided with this year’s International Women’s Day and fostered a discussion that challenged gender bias, celebrated women’s contributions and explored the need for more women in leadership. For her keynote, Lucy looked to the day’s #ChooseToChallenge theme, speaking of her own experiences both within and outside of the industry.
Built By Us (BBU) is a not-for-profit consultancy based in London that specialises in the construction sector. BBU has a vision that by 2030 it will have played an active role in the creation of a diverse UK construction sector, which both reflects the society it serves and draws on the talents of a diverse workforce.
