Lucy Musgrave JOINS jury for Creative Cities Challenge
Musgrave joins the London jury to judge a cross-city competition searching for innovative ideas aiding cultural and creative recovery post-pandemic
Launched by the Global Innovation Collaborative, the Creative Cities Challenge sees four cities coming together to search for pioneering solutions to speed the economic recovery in the cultural and creative sectors as a result of the Covid-19. A partnership between the cities of London, New York, Berlin and Paris.
Through this international collaboration between London, New York, Berlin, and Paris, the challenge invites innovators and entrepreneurs across digital, technology and financial industries from the four cities to submit ideas that will help restore each city’s culture, identity and economy.
The goal of this challenge is to find functional solutions that will drive economic growth as well as meet and address new public health, legal, technological and social challenges caused by the pandemic, with the hopes that it will act as a blueprint for other cities around the world to address their own recovery efforts.
Proposals focus on how cities can rebuild their culture and creative sectors so they can be more prosperous, sustainable, and equitable for all, and must also address environmental sustainability concerns and advance social equity in these sectors.
Submissions closed on the 20th of July, and at least two finalists from each city will be selected on the 8th of September. They will be provided with support to further develop, validate and trial their solutions in urban testbed environments alongside city partners. One winner from each city will be announced by the GIC in December 2021, and their solutions will be promoted by the Cities and founding partners.
Publica's Founding Director Lucy Musgrave forms part of the London jury, joining Richard Naylor, Amy Lamé, Theo Blackwell, Linda Rocco, Phillipe Chiarella, Sybil Bell, Amit Sood, and jury chair Justine Simons.
