PUBLICA CIC AT THE CHANGE CITIES SUMMIT AND WOMEN DELIVER CONFERENCE, MELBOURNE
May 2026

Six thousand delegates from the global CHANGE cities network converged on Melbourne last week for the network’s biannual summit – and Publica CIC was in attendance.
Already in the city conducting the latest phase of their international gender inclusion research, Ellie Cosgrave joined the summit as part of the CHANGE delegation.
In a session themed around partnership with Equimundo, Ellie presented Publica CIC’s research into how public realm design can better support caregivers, with a specific focus on redistributing care work by engaging men.
Ellie also attended the Women Deliver Conference, where she hosted a street tagging workshop at the Care Pavilion. Working with CHANGE delegates, the workshop explored how well the surrounding built environment meets caregiver needs, with particular attention to transport and mobility.
Witnessing a Global South-led conference drive forward the agenda of women’s rights – locally and internationally – was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Publica CIC are proud to have contributed their research to the conversation, and grateful to be part of a global community committed to making cities safer for women and girls.
