Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of Bankside House into a landmark, new student residence for the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), delivered in partnership with Equitix and BOUYGUES UK.
Publica has led the public realm and landscaping design for the scheme, proposing generous, landscaped courtyards and a richly integrated ground-level environment that establishes an inviting gateway connecting LSE and the Bankside to the wider urban context for students, residents and visitors alike.
The residential towers above, designed by Carmody Groarke and Sheppard Robson, will deliver high-quality, affordable homes for the LSE student community in the heart of London.
Works are expected to begin in 2027, with the new Bankside House due to open ahead of September 2032.
