2017 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism Cities Exhibition
Publica, in collaboration with The Store Studios, 180 The Strand, has produced and curated an exhibition on the creative industries in London for the inaugural Seoul Biennale for Architecture and Urbanism.
The Place – Spaces – Work exhibition explores the relationship between London’s creative sector and the city’s geography, history, built environment and civic life, shown through a range of mapping techniques and scales. It presents examples of the inventive reuse of buildings by the creative industries, illustrating the diverse social and economic activity they bring to London’s existing building stock.
In 2016, Publica was commissioned to undertake a cultural research project investigating the importance of the creative industries to London. The maps and drawings presented here are extracted from a publication titled, Place – Spaces – Work: The Creative Industries in London, which will launch this fall.
The Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, organised by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Design Foundation, runs from the 1st of September to the 5th of November, 2017. Visit seoulbiennale.org/en for more details.
