Clay is a Projects Director at Publica, where he leads public realm designs, while contributing his specialist knowledge and experience in landscape architecture. His design approach is founded on site-specific visual research with the aim of creating places that are socially, aesthetically and ecologically productive.
His experience includes large-scale infrastructure and masterplanning, parks, public space, and residential design, including all work stages from conceptualisation through to construction on site. He is interested in design that aims to address complex issues related to environmental quality, access and inclusivity. Recently, he led proposals for a mixed-use development in the City of Westminster that includes the creation of a garden and outdoor spaces that will be newly open to the public.
Clay holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Virginia. He is a Chartered Landscape Architect in the UK.
