JUAN GONZALEZ ALONSO
Senior Urban Designer
Since joining Publica in 2019, Juan has mainly focused on a number of applied urban design projects in Westminster, including a series of public realm proposals for Queensway, as well as the latest phases of the East Mayfair public realm improvement works working closely with Westminster City Council.
Originally from Spain, Juan trained as an architect and urban designer in Valladolid, Madrid and Ghent before gaining his diploma from ETSAV in 2015. While working on his Master’s Thesis, he obtained a scholarship to research housing typologies and their relationship with the evolving city under the topic of Flexibility, Transformability, and Adaptability in Modern Dwelling.
Before joining Publica, Juan worked as an architect for Morris + Company in London, and for Sauerbruch Hutton in Berlin. His previous experience has seen him work on a number of projects, ranging across a wide range of typologies and scales, including housing, commercial, healthcare, education and urban planning.
