LOU ELENA BOUEY
Urban Designer
Lou is an urban designer and researcher across Publica’s design team and its Community Interest Company. Since joining, she has been working on community research and design projects, notably on improving gender inclusion and women’s safety in the public realm for Manchester City and the GLA. She has extensive expertise on participatory practices, systems design, GIS analysis, and media production.
Originally from France, Lou received a BA(Hons) in Architecture from Central St Martins and an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design from Cambridge University, both of which she graduated with honours. She received multiple prizes and funding for her research and design work around placemaking, climate resilience and forced displacement. Some of these include funding from the Wren Association and Kettle’s Yard, the Morgan Sindall Prize, RIBA Silver Medal nomination, President’s Medal Commendation, and a British Council Venice Fellowship.
